From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The gates at mkg require a sharp right turn out to clear the obstacles associated with the terminal building. The captain intitiated the turn correctly, but was distracted by a radio transmission containing an altimeter setting. He released his hand from the steering tiller and went heads down to make the adjustment to the altimeter. The ground crew were trying to get the attention of the crew to get them to stop, but they were not seen in time to prevent the left wing-tip from striking a support pylon attached to the building.
