From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 27, 2022, at approximately 08:00 am (CDT), the FAA principal maintenance inspector (pmi) for psa received an email notification from the privacy data omitted director of maintenance (dom) of a rejected take-off in clt for possible smoke in the cabin of privacy data omittedJIA5594privacy data omittedN578NNprivacy data omittedN578NN^ had experienced a rejected take-off event at clt due to smoke in the cabin. The aircraft exited runway 18L at romeo and evacuated on taxiway delta. Passengers exited through the main cabin door, and it appears that two passengers exited through over-wing exits. One passenger scratched his left knee and right elbow while exiting the over-wing exit. The injured passenger was apparently evaluated by local airport medics and declined all other medical services. No other passenger or crew injuries were reported. Passengers were bused to the terminal by 9:50 am (CDT). Maintenance troubleshooting of the event indicated that the right-hand air cycle machine (acm) had seized during operation, causing the smoke event. The right-hand acm was removed and replaced, and all applicable checks and tests were satisfactory. The wings and emergency over wing doors were inspected and the aircraft was returned to service.

As the FAA filed it

ON JUNE 27, 2022, AT APPROXIMATELY 08:00 AM (CDT), THE FAA PRINCIPAL MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR (PMI) FOR PSA RECEIVED AN EMAIL NOTIFICATION FROM THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE (DOM) OF A REJECTED TAKE-OFF IN CLT FOR POSSIBLE SMOKE IN THE CABIN OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^JIA5594^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^N578NN^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^N578NN^ HAD EXPERIENCED A REJECTED TAKE-OFF EVENT AT CLT DUE TO SMOKE IN THE CABIN.
