From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated he departed carlsbad, CA heading to san louis obispo with 15 gallons of fuel in the LH wing and RH wing topped off. The fuel tank selector was selected to the RH wing prior to take-off. Just after passing the camarillo VOR the engine lost power. He noticed the LH wing tank was indicating empty and the RH tank had not decreased. He selected the opposite tank however the engine did not regain power. After declaring an emergency he was cleared to land at camarillo airport on either runway. He opted for left traffic for runway 25 and crashed landed east of the airport on final approach to rwy 25 and crashed into the airport perimeter fence.
