From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A pilot and flight instructor were performing a suimulated power failure at takeoff in a Cirrus SR-22. The procedure was discussed prior to the flight. After rotation the flight instructor reduced power to simulate a power failure. At that time the flap seeting was at 50% (takeoff setting). The correct procedure was to lower flaps to 100% and use remaining runway for landing. The pilot incorrectly raised flaps resulting in a rapid sink of the aircraft and a hard landing on the runway.

As the FAA filed it
