From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 17, 2022, at approximately 2000 UTC (1200 PDT), a Piper privacy data omitted and a Cessnaprivacy data omitted collided in mid-air while landing at the North Las Vegas Airport (vgt), North Las Vegas, Nevada. The aircraft were landing on separate but parallel runways.

Initial information obtained from ATC indicated that the Piper privacy data omitted was cleared to land, under visual meteorological conditions, on runway 30L, with a left hand pattern and the Cessnaprivacy data omittedwas cleared to land on runway 30R, with a right hand pattern.

Initial radar data appears to show that the Cessnaprivacy data omitted was on final for runway 30R and the Piperprivacy data omitted was on base for runway 30L and overshot the runway and collided with the Cessna privacy data omitted.
