From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed mccall Idaho (myl) enroute to Nampa Idaho (man). Pilot stated he had a half tank on departure from myl. While enroute to man he made landings at several airstrips for practice in his new aircraft. While over the town of middleton Idaho his engine quit. The pilot checked the fuel sight gauges on the wing roots and realized he was out of fuel. He attempted an off airport landing in a new housing development on an unpaved road. The landing area was not long enough for the aircraft to come to a stop prior to hitting a berm that damaged the landing gear and belly pod of the aircraft.
