From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

He departed the north wilksboro airport (ukf) and retracted the landing gear. When the gear was retracting he heard a ?bang?. The main gear fully retracted, but the nose gear did not. He attempted to put the landing gear down and the main gear extended but the nose gear did not.

He declared an emergency with ATC and asked to divert to int since they would have emergency services available there, if needed. He tried to troubleshoot and went through his emergency checklists, including a manual gear extension, but the nose gear never fully extended.

He landed on runway 33 with the nose gear not fully extended. There is damage to the nose gear, the nose of the aircraft, and both propellers. Both main fuel tanks (tip tanks on this model) are leaking fuel. He was the only occupant of the aircraft and was not injured.
