From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot statement:

"Was heading back from khqu to kgmu with flight following. Was transferred over Greenville tower about 20NM out. Contacted tower with intentions of a full stop, was instructed to enter right downwind RWY19 and report midfield. Flew in, reported right midfield (1800FT) and was cleared to land. Started my descent a beam the numbers, kept downwind at 90-80K added 10 degrees flaps. Turned base with airspeed at 80-75K with 500FPM descent. Then final with 70-65K. Crossed over the numbers and went idle and maintained landing airspeed.

Right when I went into a flare, I felt my main wheels touch and felt a big bump followed by a bounce. I tried to add power to correct for bounce and continued to porpoise. I noticed my prop strike and rudders not working so I tried to get off of the runway. Airplane came to a complete stop on runway 19.

Airport crew came out to the plane, towed it off the runway and over to southeast ramp."
