From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 8-26-2022, the aircraft was enroute from milford airport (mfl) to henderson airport (hnd), while near the Boulder City airport (bvu) the aircraft experienced a loss of power. The pilot landed the aircraft in a vacant area of a solar power plant. The aircraft collided with a chain link fence in which substantial damage to the aircraft occurred. The pilot had minor injury and the passenger suffered serious injury. No post crash fire ocurred.

Initial on site investigation revealed no credible evidence for a loss of power. The aircraft came to a rest at a ten degree bank angle with the right wing high. The left wing visually had fuel in the tank, however the fuel quantitiy indicator tube showed no fuel due to the bank angle of the aircraft. The right wing was not examined due to the elevation of the fuel port. The fuel tube quanity indicator showed no fuel present. The fuel tube routing from the right wing root along the windscreen frame to the engine was separated in the accident. The cabin, belly, and baggage compartment had extensive fuel pooling and leakage from the separation.

As the FAA filed it
