From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was in original position on runway. It appears aircraft was going to leave the runway on the right hand side and pilot may have over corrected to the left. During a sharp left hand turn/spin the right hand main landing gear wheel and brake assembly broke off causing the right hand wing tip to impact/rest on the ground throughout the spin until the aircraft stopped. The resting heading of the aircraft was approximately 007. The tail wheel and tail wheel strut attach point are damaged. The aft area of fuselage to which the tail wheel assembly attaches has been twisted from the impact causing the vertical stabilizer/rudder assembly to be tilted approximately 10 degrees from vertical. The vertical stabilizer/rudder assy is no longer perpendicular to the horizontal stabilizer. Damage to the aft fuselage tail section is considered to be substantial

As the FAA filed it
