From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed tus. On departure discovered loss of hydraulic "a" system and the landing gear would not retract. Crew diverted to iwa where the Cessna service center is located. Aircrew used procedure for landing with zero hyraulic "a" system pressure. Pilots used emergency brake system as practiced in the flight simulator and specified in emergency procedures checklist. Normal approach and touch down. As soon as emergency brakes were applied the left wheel brake locked up and began to skid, the pilot maintained directional control until he lost rudder efectiveness. The aircraft began to swerve to the left and pivot on the locked left wheel brake. The right landing gear was overwhelmed by the side load and collapsed. The aircraft came to a stop and the crew exited the aircraft.
