From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

09/28/2022, Student pilot performing a landing inprivacy data omitted at 5C1. Landing runway 17, winds reported at 170 at 5 KTS.

Pilot stated upon landing the aircraft veered to the left. He applied right rudder with no response. The aircraft left the runway onto the grass. The pilot attempted to apply full power for a go around once the aircraft left the runway.

A glider was just off the runway with its pilot installing a tow dolly. The glider pilot heard the aircraft RPM increase and looked up in time to see N93PF nose high heading for him. N96PF left wing struck the glider empennage removing the horizontal and injuring its pilot.

N93PF continued to the left across the taxi way striking a t hangar then coming to rest striking another t hangar damaging the aircraft inside.

N93PF suffered damage to both wing roots, the left wing tip, windscreen and removed the empennage.

Flight control continuity was checked and found to be intact.
