From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot said it was a morning flight around 9, beautiful day with an OAT of 65 degrees, and he flew for about an hour where he was practicing maneuvers. The event happened on his only landing, which he said he made a 3 point landing, but after touch down he got a little float, which he had experienced before, so he kept the nose up to bleed off speed. Once he touched down again the right wing immediately went up ~ 30 degrees and he started going left. He attempted to bring in power to go around, but by that time the LH wing and prop hit the ground and he was slung 180 degrees into the ditch. The right gear was removed from the aircraft. The pilot was counseled by ASI privacy data omittedon December 14,2022, on the risks of loss of control in tailwheel aircraft.
