From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During takeoff from isp pilot reports normal landing gear retraction, upon approach to frg pilot lowers landing gear but has no green landing gear down light. Frg tower confirms landing gear is out but NLG is not fully extended. Pilot attempts to retract landing gear but will not retract fully. Pilot attempts emergency landing gear extension per CE310J operating handbook, but landing gear still will not extend fully. Pilot elects to retract landing gear and land with MLG up and NLG still partially extended. Performs landing on runway 32 at frg aircraft comes to a stop on rwy 32 pilot is uninjured and exits the aircraft on his own, no fire or fuel leakage.

After further investigation noted NLG wheel straightener bracket pn 0842000-58 is found broken and NLG straightener cam roller pn CR10-1 is found frozen and not able to rotate.

When cam roller could not rotate it bent the NLG strightener bracket allowing NLG to become uncentered and not able to retract. Unpon landing the NLG cam roller did further damage to the straightener bracket which was found broken.

As the FAA filed it

DURING TAKEOFF FROM ISP PILOT REPORTS NORMAL LANDING GEAR RETRACTION, UPON APPROACH TO FRG PILOT LOWERS LANDING GEAR BUT HAS NO GREEN LANDING GEAR DOWN LIGHT.
