From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 19, 2023, at 1510HRS CDT privacy data omitted landed at Springdale, AR (kasg) from training flight that included several grass field takeoff/landings at a nearbuy private strip (MO00). After touchdown and on roll out, a/c veered left unexpectedly without pilot input. Pilot applied full right rudder; instructor applied right brake. A/c turned to the right. Pilot applied hard left brake. The tail lifted, the a/c nosed over and propeller struck the ground damaging propeller, spinner and cowling. There was no forward airspeed and a/c tail wheel returned to the ground.

While pushing aircraft clear of runway ground crew noticed right tailwheel spring missing. A FOD check of the runway was completed and no spring was found. The lack of the right tailwheel spring caused the aircraft to become uncontrolable after landing.
