From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 23, 2023, a Beechcraft BE-33 under part 91 departed sky ranch airport, knoxville TN (TN98), for hollywood, FL. Approximately 4 hours into the flight the pilot requested an altitude change. The aircraft currently at 8000 ft, requested to descend to 6000 ft. during the descent the engine began to run rough the pilot stated and requested a nearby airport to land. ATC directed the aircraft into Okeechobee airport, FL (kobe). The aircraft landed safely at 17:20 however, with that, it was said the pilot attempted two previous approaches into the airport that were unsuccessful. Finally on the third attempt and assisted by ground control landed without incident. Once parked ground personnel performed visual inspections of the engine and associated components based on the squawk to include sumping the fuel tanks. It appears from pictures that a good amount of sediment was obtained from the tanks. After a maintenance debrief, no further action was taken from ground personnel. The pilot then contacted his mechanic regarding the occurrence, and he suggested several things to be checked without further departure. The pilot performed multiple ground runs with indications to be within normal ranges. The pilot refueled the aircraft and with tower approval taxied to the hold line on runway 5 in order to perform full power run ups. On the final check and pulling back the throttle, the aircraft did not seem to slow therefore, the pilot began braking and shutting down his engine. The aircraft ended up running off the runway veering left (ground looping) and causing the right main gear to collapse. The aircraft was lifted, the gear was locked in a down position and placed in a hangar. On site 03/24/2023, and during the investigation identified damage to include the step, undercarriage scrapping, and top wing skin panel that shows signs of wrinkling that may be consistent with an accident given the fore and aft direction however, the NTSB, after their review deemed it an incident with the information, pictures and statements provided as, there was no intent to fly. Additional discrepancies were also noted but not associated with the incident. There was no known damage to the engine, firewall, mounts or propeller. The owner may request a ferry permit after a thorough inspection has been performed, the aircraft must be flown with the gear down and locked to a place where it can be repaired. Awaiting further requests and closed unless amendments are required.

As the FAA filed it
