What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
During instructional flight for new type of aircraft for registered owner, after approx 40 minutes of pattern work and touch & go's on runway 4 at paws, winds had changed so a reverse course landing was determined. Upon making a 180 degree course change outside the airport pattern, re-entry to pattern for runway 22 was initiated and set up on downwind. A successful landing was made and taxied clear of the runway. Then a taxi to runway 22 after completing checklist. It was determined there was an appox crosswind of 8-9KTS and crosswind correction inputs were made to the controls and a takeoff was started. The pilot reported once the AIRCRAFT6 came up to speed, pilot advanced the yoke to bring tail up and roll out crosswind correction. At the instant the control change was initiated to lift the tail, the right wing came up abnormally high leaving only the left tire in contact with the runway. The aircraft then skidded off the runway to the left at a 45 degree angle and left the runway surface and plowed through a snow bank off the left side of the runway. After traveling 15 plus yards, the landing gear beacme stuck in deep snow and the aircraft went up onto it's nose and came to a stop. The aircraft never went inverted and remained resting on it's nose and left wing. Both occupants exited the aircraft without injury.
