From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot landed aircraft at U12 about 800 feet from the approach end. Immediately after touch down, a strong gust of wind from the right side abruptly lifted the right wing. This pushed the aircraft to the left of the runway. Pilot used right aileron and right rudder to correct. Pilot also verified engine was at idle and applied brake. The left tire skidded. The pilot released the hand brake to gain control of the left tire and reapplied brake. Aircraft departed runway onto soft/wet shoulder. The aircraft then impacted snowbank with nose gear. Nose gear collapsed. Pilot turned off aircraft and fuel. Pilot and passenger exited aircraft. No injuries. NTSB ruled this an incident.
