From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Investigated an aircraft accident in Eaton oh. That occurred on April 25,2023. The aircraft was upside down in a farm field with the canopy and cowling crushed. There was no odour of fuel and no evidence of fuel spillage. Due to the position of the aircraft the propeller could not be turned to determine freedom of movement nor could the engine be examined. The aircraft was released by the FAA and the farmer removed it from the field. The next day during the recovery of the aircraft personnel noticed that there was very little fuel in the fuel tanks.
