From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft took off from kpbi and landed at kaus after 2.5 hour flight. During landing rollout at approximately 60 to 70 knots ground speed, the aircraft experienced some vibration and it was determined that a tire failure had occurred. Aircraft came to a complete stop and shutdown on the runway. Aircraft was towed to the local FBO. No injuries.

During initial inspection, it was noted that the right main tire was blown and some damage to the wheel from running on pavement. Subsequent inspection identified that the wheel speed sensor wire was frayed by the tire, the grounding strap was severed, and the gear door rod was bent.

The tire only had 94 landings and was approximately 40% through its service life. Walkaround prior to flight found no issue with tire and no issue on takeoff roll. Suspect FOD on runway caused tire to blowout.
