From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 5/14/2023 at 2010 EST, airman requested and was cleared for a high-speed taxi on runway 32 at Wilmington/New Castle Airport (ilg). The reason for the high-speed taxi was to try and identify an oil leak on one of the engines.

During the high-speed taxi the aircraft's speed had increased too much and inadvertently lifted off the ground. Airman reduced power and returned aircraft back on the ground near the departure end of runway 32. This is where runway 32 & runway 9/27 intersect.

Airman indicated he applied brakes, and skid marks were observed at the end of the runway. The aircraft then proceeded through the grass, over taxiway kilo, and back into the grass.

Upon inspection, damage was noted to both the left and right propeller, and no other damage to the aircraft was observed.
