From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC statement: on may 22, 2023 the Hawker 4000 aircraft was enroute from savannah, ga to north eleuthera, Bahamas at 40,000 feet. The aircraft was descending through approximately 35,000 feet when a right windshield overheat cas message was received. As per the checklist the right windshield heat was selected off. Approximately 10 seconds after the off position was selected there was a pop and the co-pilots windshield severely cracked. All precautions were made by declaring an emergency and requesting a descent to a safe altitude. The aircraft maintained pressurization normally and the weather was clear so the aircraft diverted to a nearby maintenance facility in Tampa, FL. After reaching a safe altitude the crew carefully evaluated the situation, cancelled the emergency and proceeded to Tampa for a normal landing.
