From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While enroute from kcdc to kbtf the aircraft experienced surging engines with most erratic fluctuations on the left engine. As a result of the erratic engine RPM fluctuations the pilot adjusted mixture and throttle control. Once reasonable engine control was attained the pilot elected to land at the nearest airport, Nephi Utah airport (U14). During landing touch down both engines surged just prior to touchdown resulting in yaw oscillations and loss of control. The aircraft departed the runway resulting in right main gear separation and right prop damage as the aircraft skidded to stop.

As the FAA filed it
