From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

During the emergency landing, the PIC reported that he placed the landing gear handle in the down positon and began to pump the emergency gear extension lever to extend the gear. The PIC also stated that he turned off the master and avionics switches as he believed the cause of the smoke to be electrical. The PIC said he noticed that 48X was the nearest airport. After touchdown at X48, the aircraft began to slide down the runway as the gear moved to its up position. The PIC reported in his statement that the landing gear was not in its full down and locked position and could not be verified due to the master switch being turned off.
