From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 06/13/2023, 1150 EDT, the PIC of privacy data omitted, a Beech 200, privacy data omitted, experienced a landing gear collapse after touch down on runway 23 at Coral Creek Airport, FL (FA54). The PIC was on a personal flight departing from panama city beaches airport, FL (kecp) to FA54. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time. The aircraft safely slid to a stop and the PIC and his passenger exited the aircraft uninjured. The aircraft sustained minor damage.

In review of the evidence surrounding this incident, the PIC was at the controls of privacy data omitted when after touchdown at FA54, the landing gear collapsed, causing the aircraft to slide until coming to a stop on runway 23. The PIC reported that the landing sequence was normal and that all landing gear indication lights and warning horns performed satisfactory. The PIC stated he saw three green lights illuminated, which indicated that the gear was down and locked. Additionally, the PIC stated that he did not recall seeing red lights illuminated in the landing gear handle, which indicated that the gear was not in transit. In addition, nor did the PIC hear any audible warnings, thus indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing. Reviewed video footage of landing and the landing did not appear to be excessively hard.
