From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After touching down with the MLG on the rwy 16L centerline, when the NLG touched down, the airplane abruptly veered to the right and the NLG collapsed. The airplane skidded to a stop on its nose on the right-hand side of the rwy with a sudden engine stoppage and prop strike with no injuries to the pilot or passenger. The pilot reported it felt like the NLG was out of caster and sideways on touchdown. An onsite investigation found the fixed NLG bent at about 90 degrees in two separate locations, damage to both prop blade tips, and the lower engine cowl forward edge partially crushed.
