From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The airman stated he departed his cabin near gustavus and was enroute to endicott river wilderness area. He crashed into the mountainside approximately 10 miles NE of gustavus airport. He remembers very little of the accident but stated he recalls what he felt like, being in a downdraft. The next thing he remembers was trying to turn off the ignition key but realized it was not there as the entire dash of the aircraft was ripped away after impact. The coast guard rescued the pilot and transported him to the juneau airport where he was then taken to the hospital. The next thing the pilot remembered was being in the bellevue hospital in seattle.
