From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

As stated by the pilot I departed 7S5 on runway 34. About 3 miles north I noticed an irregularity with the engine/propeller so I did a 180 and headed back. The engine started revving up and the propeller was windmilling so I picked a field and landed the airplane.

Upon landing there was irrigaiton pipe that was not seen during landing seleciton. The aircraft langing gear hit the irrigation pipe and flipped upside down. During teardown it was found that a gear in the gear box between engine and propeller had broken into four pieces.
