From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot in command and a passenger statement and interview revealed that on initial startup, the taxi on ramp and the back taxi on runway were uneventful. While at the departure end of 02 (runway) in Klawock the PIC initiated a 180 turn to the left to line up and subsequently the left brake failed. With no ability to steer to the left the aircraft started a gradual right turn toward the edge of the runway. The PIC applied full reverse to stop the aircraft and just as it was coming to a stop on the right-side runway edge the nose wheel rolled over a slight embankment and aircraft slowly rolled down off the runway into an ditch causing the propeller tips the engage with the grass and ground which slightly rolled the tips of the propeller blades. Engine was shut down and passengers were deplaned and flight service was notified of disabled aircraft.
