From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was conducting the ILS runway 13 approach into San Marcos regional airport. During this approach, the aircraft entered VMC at what the pilots estimate was about 600' AGL. PIC chose to commit to a landing. Both pilots remarked that the airplane was well past the intended touchdown point, and well above glideslope a few moments before touching down with about 2,600' of available landing distance remaining. The pilot attempted to stop with brakes and spoilers but was unable due to the aircraft's inertia and the wheels hydroplaning. The airplane overran the runway into the grass. The aircraft came to rest 280' east-southeast of the FAR ends of runway 13 and 17. Four minutes before the incident the hyi METAR reported an approximate 12-24 knot tailwind.
