From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot intended to land in spk after about a 1 hour flight departure. During decent for traffic pattern altitude the pilot reported that the engine began running rough. The pilot attempted to correct the rough running condition by verifying fuel tanks selector setting and mixture. The pilot reported that the engine died at approximately 6500' MSL. The pilot attempted an engine restart but was unsuccessful. As pilot attempted to land in an open field, the aircraft main gear struck power lines and were torn from the aircraft. The pilot continued to descend touching down in the filed and skidding on the aircraft belly into a dirt berm with left wing striking trees which caused the aircraft to rotate about the yaw axis 180 degrees coming to a stop in a near by residential yard. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
