From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While enroute IFR at FL24.0 from great falls, mt to pahrump, NV the M-20 lost oil pressure. With assistance from ATC the pilot was vectored to byi where he performed an emergency landing to runway 06. According to the pilot, the engine remained unresponsive to any throttle input and the landing was completed at idle throttle with a windmilling prop. The pilot reported his touchdown was 3/4 of the way down the runway. This resulted in over running the runway, traveling through the grass, and perimeter fence striking a large dumpster. This caused substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot sustained minor injuries.
