From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was on a cross country flight from korl to kspg. The pilot first noticed electrical issues as he passed lakeland airport. Pilot reported his garmin map screen alternated between darker and lighter brightness settings along with his transponder losing power and re-cycling back on. Approximately 10 miles from kspg, the pilot experienced a complete electrical failure with no garmin, comms, transponder, autopilot and decided to exit the tampa area and return to a better-known airport, he selected kgif. The pilot performed a gear up landing on rwy 5 at kgif and came to a stop on the runway. The pilot reported no injuries and the plane sustained damage to the 2X belly skid plates. The plane was lifted, gear was operated to a down and locked position, and was towed to the FBO. Plane is awaiting repairs.
