From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot reported this was the first flight after completion of an annual inspection. Shortly after departing Gillespie Field he observed a decrease in engine oil pressure. At this time, he decided to return back to Gillespie Field. A short time later the engine temperature increased with variouse engine noises followed by a complete loss of oil pressure. Then the airplane completely loss engine power. Unable to maintain altitude he elected to land on a street in a residental neighborhood. The aircraft contacted power lines and a telephone pole severing the right wing before coming to a complete stop. Total flight time was 25 minutes. NTSB findings concluded the engine vacuum pump mounting hardware were intalled without the required torque.
