From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 05/01/2024 a Thrush S2R-T34 piloted by a commercial pilot performed a landing at Bucklin Airport (8K0) on turf runway 35, 2560 feet long. The wind was 110 at 11 knots. Due to the obstacle and sloping of the runway the pilot chose to land runway 35 with about a 5.5 knot tailwind. The pilot carried approximately 15 KTS of excessive airspeed and was at idle. The pilot noticed the end of the runway approaching and decided to conduct a go around. Applied full power. Gear touched down, the pilot proceeded to reduce power to idle and once the tailwheel touched down the reverse thrust was initiated. The aircraft proceeded to roll off the end of runway 35 and cross the road to the south of the runway and come to a rest. Damage to the left gear was sustained.
