From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated he was returning from a lesson at ukiah (uki) airport. Had approximately 20 gallons of fuel on board at the time of the accident. After practicing landings, he decided to have one more lap in the pattern. Pilot reported that as the airplane began to climb, the engine was sudenly unable to produce full power (still running, just not making power) and he began to descend. Knowing that a turn to the runway was unmakeable, he decided to perform a forced landing in a field directly in line with the runway.

As the FAA filed it
