From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While on final approach for runway 1R at Washington dulles international airport (iad), privacy data omitted struck a bird at the base of the number (2) engine inlet ring that subsequently ingested into the engine. Aircraft landed and taxied to the ramp without further incident. Minor damage was noted to the inlet ring. Inspection of the number (2) engine revealed no damage other than ingested bird matter. The number (2) engine was disassembled as required to remove bird matter and reassembled. A vibration analysis, fan balance, and 5-point performance run to verify engine operation was conducted with with no defects noted.
