What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft landed on runway 22 at avp. During rollout, PIC lost control and veered of runway near taxiway B5, striking a runway edge light. Avp ATIS reported winds at time of event: 220 9 G22 kt.
PIC stated adjustable rudder pedal assemby (somehow) moved out of set (desired) position, and too FAR forward for him to reach, resulting in loss of directional control during landing rollout.
Aircraft physical inspection:
All aerodynamic controls continuous and correct. Noted adjustable rudder pedals not latched and seemed difficult to secure in second or third adjustment hole from rear. Several skin dents in lower surface of left wing consistent with impacting runway edge lighting. No damage to primary control surfaces.
