From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 6-3-2024, aircraft took off from pou(poughkeepsie, NY) on a cross country gflight to bdl(hartford, CT). During the flight at cruise(5500FT) the pilot reported to ATC that the engine was running rough and rpm's were dropping. The enigne stopped shortly after and the pilot could not get the engine to restart. ATC directed the pilot to the closes airstrip, waterbury airport, a grass strip in Plymouth CT. The pilot tried to make it to the airport with no power but came up short on the approach. The plane came in contact with trees approximately 0.1 miles from the airport and crashed into an rv park campground. Nothing on the ground was damaged. The plane came to rest in an empty rv site upside down. Twoprivacy data omitted on site were first to respond to the accident(one local K9 unit officer and one privacy data omitted) and were able to help the pilot out of the aircraft. First responders were called and the pilot was taken to a local hospital. Pilot only sustained minor injuries and was released the next day after observation. Aircraft was recovered and moved to a facility for further investigation. 6/18/2024 FAA icc met with NTSB rep and reps from Lycoming and Beechcraft to investigate the engine for possible cause of the accident. Nothing of note was found during the investigation of the engine, airframe, and logbooks.
