From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon landing aircraft began to violently shimmy from side to side to which the pilot was unable to arrest with brakes or rudder input. Soon after the right wing collapsed and hit the runway to which the aircraft veered left off the runway and into the grass. Inspection of the aircraft landing gear after the accident revealed the lower leg assembles of the main landing gear failed at a welded attach point of the main landing gear oleo strut. The components were quarantined and sent to the NTSB lab for further inspection.
