From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A witness reported that she was on hauser lake, in a boat at the time of the accident. She saw a group of airplanes. The first airplane scooped water and during its departure, the wings rocked a little bit. She then saw the accident airplane and the accident sequence. She stated

That due to her position on the water, she could not tell if the airplane had scooped water or not, but she did see it departing with the wings rocking before it turned to the left and struck the rock face. The airplane slid into the water.

No anomilies were found with the aircraft during the onsite investigation.
