From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 12, 2024, at approximately 1038 local time, a Beechcraft 58 sustained substantial damage when the pilot landed long and overshot the runway at the Transylvania Community Airport (3NR3). The runway is 2903 feet long by 50 feet wide. 3NR3 does not provide local weather reporting but the asheville regional airport (kavl) located 11 miles to the northeast reported clear skies with 10 miles of visibility and winds out of 350 degrees at 5 knots. The aircraft had an annual inspection completed on July 11, 2024, and was being picked up by the privacy data omitted. Upon initial takeoff from runway 27, the pilot noted that the engines were running rough but elected to continue the takeoff and return back to the field for landing. The pilot made a tight left turn to final for runway 9 and carried excessive speed across the threshold which resulted in a long landing. The pilot fully applied both brakes as indicated by the skid marks which extended approximately 1700 feet before the aircraft departed the end of the runway. The aircraft hit a small dirt berm, nosed over, and came to rest in a small creek bed.

As the FAA filed it

THE AIRCRAFT HAD AN ANNUAL INSPECTION COMPLETED ON JULY 11, 2024, AND WAS BEING PICKED UP BY THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.
