From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was on maintenance/paintshop from may 26 to July 9, 2024. On July 13, 2024, during the pre-flight inspection, the presence of water in the fuel tanks was noted (PIC drained the fuel until it was free of water). The aircraft departed approximately at 1358 local time. During the climb out, the PIC experienced an engine problem (partial loss of power); the airmen decided to declare an emergency and returned to the airport. Post-incident, it was discovered that there was a possible old fuel/contamination due to the airplane not having been operated for a long time and the summer season (heavy rain). As a corrective action, the fuel tanks were drained and replaced with new fuel, and the spark plugs/air filters also were replaced. The maintenance operational check was completed satisfactorily with normal parameters.

As the FAA filed it
