From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student pilot was practicing touch and goes with CFI. After 4th touch and go the certified flight instructor (CFI) took over controls to demonstrate proper wind correction. After touchdown and a brief roll out the CFI retracted flaps and applied full power, shortly after rotating student pilot and CFI saw a brown blur and heard a thud before becoming airborne. CFI declared an emergency and returned to the airport and landed without further incident. While taxing back to parking the CFI saw a deer on the runway. Post accident investigation of aircraft showed right-wing leading-edge damage outboard of the fuel tank. Wildlife reporting advisory circular 150/5200-32B provided to CFI.
