From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

From the PIC of the proposed flight the fire took place while stationary and on the ground. From his description to me the run-up and everything else was normal until he saw signs of a fire in the engine compartment. He and the passenger immediately exited the aircraft. He attempted to put out the fire with the onboard fire extinguisher but it was ineffective. The airport firefighters arrived minutes later and put out the fire.

NTSB did not investigate this because damage criteria was not met. This was a no action for the NTSB.
