From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated that he and his wife were travelling from dickinson, ND to killdeer, ND. Main landing gear would come down but nose gear did not and the motor kept running, pilot decided to divert to Bismarck, ND due to the availability of services. Cycling the gear several times and trying the hand pump produced no other results in landing gear operation.

Damage was concentrated on the cowling/nose landing gear door.

The engine shut off prior to impact, damage to composite propeller appeared to be due to windmilling effect.

Landing gear was cycled several times on jacks with cowling/nose landing gear door removed using ship battery power and no defects could be noted. Hydraulic components are being sent to overhaul facility for further evaluation.
