From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Shortly after takeoff the engine coughed/sputtered then started to run normal for a few seconds later the engine quit. Pilot knew there were buildings straight ahead and was aware of the field to the left and would try to land there so the pilot veered to the left. The right-wing tip impacted the ground, the right-wing tip was found separated from the wing. The aircraft came to rest approximately 100 feet from the initial impact site with the right wing broken off laying next the right side of the fuselage.
