From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 08/02/2024 I was notified of a floatplane accident at Lake Hood, I arrived on scene and took multiple pictures. The aircraft was released per the NTSB for removal and transportation back to companies mx hanger.

Pilot stated that on climb out his float equipped aircraft engine began to run rough followed by a distinct burp/gulp with a loss of power. He decided to abort the takeoff and pulled back the power and mixture levers making a rapid descent towards the lake. The aircraft made several bounces on the water and hit several objects and came to rest on land. (Sms)
