From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 3, 2024, at approximately 1305 MDT, a Mooney M20R, landed gear-up on rwy 13 at the Grants-milan muncipal airport, kgnt, and skidded down the runway and came to a complete stop. This resulted in minor damage to the aircraft. The private pilot was not injured. The flight originated at the double eagle ii airport, kaeg, and was the first post annual inspection flight. No flight plan was filed.

Investigation of the incident determined that the pilot/privacy data omitted simply forgot to lower the landing gear. No mechanical anomalies were noted when the on-scene FSDO pmi cycled the landing gear after a tow truck/crane picked up the aircraft.
