From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The PIC was sole occupant of privacy data omitted (Maule M4) on August 6th 2024, doing touch and go landings on runway (rwy) 33. On touch-down the aircraft RH wing lifted from an apparent cross-wind causing the airplane tail to swing to the left resulting in a ground loop with the LH wing impacting the rwy and the LH landing gear strut to collapse and fold under the aircraft. The collapsed LH ldg caused the propeller to strike the rwy and stop the engine. The airplane came to rest on the edge of the rwy. Pilot completed a post-flight shutdown and exited the airplane with no injuries.
